About Us
We fell in love with the Mary Valley whilst camping in Imbil with our family. We bought our piece of country paradise during this time which is nearly 20 years ago. Imbil hasn't changed much since then, which is the beauty of the whole of the Mary Valley.
Useful Information
Check-in time is after 2pm
Check-out time is before 10am
Please be considerate and leave your cottage in a tidy state.
Water is precious so we ask that you are mindful of this during your stay.
Laundry
There is a lovely laundromat in town.
Phone access & Internet
The internet (wifi) is available and access details will be provided on arrival.
Access to the cottage
You will be provided with a QR code for accessing the cottage.
Self Contained Cottage
Your cottage is designed to be self-contained with all linen, bedding and towels provided for your stay. Your accommodation is serviced on your departure. Should you wish to have your accommodation serviced or linen changed during your stay, a minimum fee of $50 per service applies.
A complimentary starter kit has been provided in your cottage. This includes kitchen cleaning products, shampoo/conditioner/soap and coffee/tea/milk.
Garbage
Please place all rubbish in the bins provided both inside the cottage and outside in the garbage bins for roadside collection. Wednesday, 7am is garbage day.
Non-smoking
Estate 474 is a NON-SMOKING property.
Pets
Pets are not permitted during your stay.
Children
Whilst we endeavour to keep our property safe we ask guests, parents, gaurdians, carers, during your stay at Estate 474, to be responsible for your children at all times and are expected to supervise their behaviour.
Dams
There are two dams on the 30 acre property and one can also be seen in our neighbours property. The dams are not for use, including no swimming. Please ensure that your children DO NOT use the dam and if you have children that cannot swim, ensure they do not enter the dam or its surrounds. The closest dam to the cottage is approximately 100 metres away.
Cottage Gas
Should the gas bottle empty during your stay, please follow the below steps.
* There are two gas cylinders on the back outside wall of the cottage
* Turn the hand wheel on the empty gas bottle OFF (clockwise)
* Then, move the changeover valve lever to point towards the other (full) gas bottle
* Turn the hand wheel on the full gas bottle ON (anti-clockwise)
Gas Hot Water System
If there is a power outage, the gas instant hot water system may need to be reset. This can be done by:
* Turning off the instant hot water system at the power point which it is plugged in to (outside your cottage)
* Wait 10 seconds
* Turn on the instant hot water system at the power point which it is plugged in to.
Tank Water
Estate 474 uses natural rain water and we ask that you use it wisely. We will ensure that there is adequate supply in the tanks for normal use during your stay. Should the water run out, we will need to haul in externally via truck by our reliable and trusted water source on their next available allocation.
Thunderstorms & Power Outages
You may experience a power outage during a thunderstorm. You will not be able to access water during a power outage. Follow these steps:
* There is a torch located in the cottage
* You will locate the electricity switchboard on the outside wall, by the kitchen door
* Ensure all switches are ON
* If this does not turn the power back on, then it may mean that the area is out of power
* To check current power outages in the Mary Valley region use the Energex Outage Finder
or monitor the live Gympie Regional Council Disaster Dashboard For unexpected losses of power or emergencies, call 13 62 62 (24/7 outages) or 13 19 62 (fallen powerlines).
Fire
* Assist any person in immediate danger ONLY if safe to do so
* Evacuate
* Close the cottage door
* Call emergency services on '000' and provide our address,

Fire Extinguisher
A portable fire extinguisher is located in your cottage. Attack the fire with the fire extinguisher, ONLY if safe to do so.
How to use the fire extinguisher:
* Keep your escape path to your back.
* Locate the extinguisher
* P = PULL the pin
* A = AIM the extinguisher nozzle at the base of the flames
* S = SQUEEZE the trigger while holding the extinguisher in the upright position
* S = SWEEP the extinguisher or nozzle from side to side covering the base of the fire
Observe the fire after initial extinguishement as it may re-ignite.
